Remanencia

Remanencia is a performance presented on March 5th, 2023, at the collective exhibition "Formando un Subsuelo" by the collective A la Sombra, by Mariano Ortega and Sayaka Fujio. We conducted a spatial investigation where our point of interest is the change and sedimentation of memory and its ability to modify the reality of the world. We start from the creation of our own world, where through play, organization, and recognition of space, we acknowledge the void in our own bodies, occupying the space that the existence of the other leaves in an inactive state. Each performer activates the other's void by filling it, experiencing a new bodily arrangement as a consequence of existing in the same world.
